FERA becomes a stakeholder of the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights

FERA has officially joined the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights, an initiative of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
The EUIPO is a decentralised EU agency responsible for the management of trademarks and designs within the Union. Operating under EUIPO, the Observatory brings together stakeholders from various sectors, including public authorities, private entities, and civil society representatives, to collaborate on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property (IP) rights. Through research, policy recommendations, and awareness campaigns, the Observatory aims to improve the fight against IP infringements.
By joining the Observatory as a stakeholder, FERA will provide the unique perspective of European Screen Directors on key audiovisual sector issues, supported by decades of expertise within its network. FERA looks forward to contributing to the Observatory’s essential work in protecting authors’ rights, at a time of sea-changes in the audiovisual sector driven by emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
