FERA appoints Julie Belgrado as new Chief Executive Officer
The Federation of European Screen Directors (FERA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Julie Belgrado as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Pauline Durand-Vialle after more than a decade of leadership.
A long-time advocate for European cultural networks, Julie Belgrado first joined the European & International Booksellers Federation (EIBF) in 2016, working on EU affairs and communications, before being appointed Director in 2019. Under her leadership, EIBF experienced significant growth, a trajectory she is ready to replicate at FERA.
Julie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Culture, a degree in European Journalism, and a Master’s in Media and Business. Passionate about culture and creative industries, she brings extensive experience in advocacy, association management, event organisation, and European affairs. She is deeply committed to supporting screen directors and amplifying their voices in policy debates.
FERA Board of Directors is unanimously confident in Julie’s ability to advocate for artistic freedom, authors’ rights, and the protection and promotion of Europe’s cultural diversity.
Chair of the FERA Board Bill Anderson commented:
“We are genuinely excited that Julie will be joining us as our new CEO. She combines proven dynamic leadership and strategic vision with discerning empathy and a keen sense of humour. We look forward to working with a brave new champion for European screen directors.”
Julie Belgrado will take office in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition with EIBF.
