Launch conference of the EWA’s New Pan-European Study on gender equality for film directors

The EWA Network will launch its new study on the presence of women directors in the European film industry at a conference to be held during the 2016 Berlinale. “Where are the Women Directors in European Film“, organised in collaboration with FERA, Directors UK, WFTV UK, Pro Quote Regie, WFTV DE and the FFA, will look at the facts, highlight best practice and make a series of policy recommendations for future action.
FERA CEO Pauline Durand-Vialle will speak on the introductory panel “What changes are needed at pan-European level to sustain women directors in today’s industry?”, along with Isabel Castro, Deputy Director of Eurimages Film Fund and Francine Raveney, Director of the EWA Network.
FERA member Directors UK’s vice chair Beryl Richards will take part of the main panel “What are the findings and recommendations for women directors in two national industries: Germany and the UK?” with, among others, Holly Aylett, Head of Research and UK national research supervisor, EWA Network and Prof. Elizabeth Prommer, of the University of Rostock.
The conference will be moderated by Kate Kinninmont, CEO of WFTV UK.
