FERA contributes to Voices of Culture Report on “The Status & Working Conditions for Artists, Cultural & Creative Professionals”

In April and June 2021, FERA contributed to the Voices of Culture Brainstorming Meeting with more than 50 stakeholders of the cultural and creative sector.

The subsequent report published in July recommends several key actions on issues such as the social and legal status of cultural and creative workers, fair pay, collective bargaining, artistic freedom and the issue of buyout contracts.

FERA very much welcome this focus on cultural and creative workers’ socio-economic reality in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, and hopes to see policy makers take on board these recommendations in developing concrete actions both at European and national level.
