FERA partners with EFAD and Europa International for an exclusive joint screening of “La Ferme des Bertrand” & “Plat de Résistance” at BRIFF 2024
On 27 Jun 2024, in the framework of the EFAD Rendez-vous with European Cinema event series, FERA teamed up with other AV industry stakeholders for an exclusive screening at Brussels International Film Festival (BRIFF).
The event was co-organised by EFAD, Europa International and BRIFF, in partnership with: the European Audiovisual Producers Association (CEPI), the International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas (CICAE), Climate Action, Cineuropa, Cinema Galeries, the European Coalitions for Cultural Diversity, the European Producers Club (EPC), Europa Distribution, the Society of Audiovisual Authors (SAA), and FERA.
The two films on the menu were La Ferme des Bertrand by screen director Gilles Perret, a film that follows 50 years in the life of a dairy farm run by three brothers in the French Alps, and the short Plat de Résistance by Marie Royer & Zinia Scorier, a poetic animated portrait of activists who use food as a tool in their anti-consumerist struggle.
Both films fitted well into the “Green Planet” themed section of the BRIFF and they illustrate the valuable contribution films can make to raising awareness for environmental causes.
After the screening, the audience had the possibility to meet the producers of Plat de Résistance at a cocktail-reception, during which the new guide “From Green Goals to Green Actions: A Guide for Film Sales Professionals” was presented by Europa International.
The guide is a practical tool, developed by Europa International together with film sales professionals, which aims to help industry professionals identify green practices they can easily implement in their everyday work.
