A FERA A delegation formed by Chair Klemen Dvornik, board members Hrvoje Hribar, Birgitte Staermose, Cay C. Wesnigk and Martijn Winkler and CEO Pauline Durand-Vialle represented FERA at the 70th edition of Berlin International Film Festival/ Berlinale 2020.
In addition to various meetings with European industry players such as the European Film Academy and the British Film Institute, as well as colleagues from the FERA network and the Directors Guild of Canada Ontario, the delegation took part in a series of events part of the Berlinale 2020 focusing on various hot topics:
- Promoting a greener and sustainable film industry (European Film Forum Event “Greener Pastures: Towards a Sustainable Audiovisual Industry”, organised by Creative Europe, MEDIA Programme, Green Film Shooting – “Green Film Production 2.0: Beyond reusable coffee cups”, organised by Germany Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety and the MPA Berlinale Event ‘Film Goes Green: Sustainability in Film Production’);
- Working towards achieving gender balance in the film industry (Creative Europe Roundtable: “Gender balance and diversity in the next MEDIA programme” and 2nd International Round Table of Women’s Organisations in Film and Media at Berlinale 2020, organized by Pro Quote Film);
- Organization and representation for audiovisual authors (Directors and Screenwriters roundtable: “Lack of Organisation and Representation in the European film industry and its effect on working conditions”, organised by EU XXL).
