FERA partners in the exclusive screening of “KLONDIKE” by Maryna Er Gorbach at Cinéma Galeries
The special screening of “KLONDIKE” by Maryna Er Gorbach, was organised by EFAD – European Film Agency Directors – aisbl, in partnership with European associations in the culture and audiovisual sector: FERA, CEDC, CICAE, Cineuropa, Europa Distribution, Europa International, EFA, EPC, EWA, SAA, UNIC. The event took place on April 19th at Cinema Galeries, in Brussels, in the presence of the director Maryna Er Gorbach and her husband, the Turkish filmmaker Mehmet Bahadir Er.
The screening was preceded by a cocktail reception and gathered participants to celebrate Ukrainian cinema and discuss how to support the film community in Ukraine after the invasion by the Russian army.
Maryna Er Gorbach is a Ukrainian film director. After studying at Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema & Television University (Ukraine), graduated from Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing (Poland). Since 2017 Maryna ER Gorbach has been a member of the European Film Academy. KLONDIKE premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2022, winning the World Cinema Dramatic Competition for directing. The screening ended with a Q&A with Maryna Er Gorbach and Mehmet Bahadir Er, moderated by Tamara Tatishvili, from EWA Network / European Women’s Audiovisual Network, where the public had the opportunity to talk with the director and the producer and find out more about the creation of the film, the story behind it and its characters.
