The LUX Audience Award, based on the previous LUX Film Prize, established by the EU Parliament 2007, and EFA’s People’s Choice Award, is presented by the EU Parliament and the European Film Academy (EFA), in partnership with the EU Commission and Europa Cinemas.
LUX Award sheds light on films that go to the heart of the European public debate, celebrating the creative and artistic diversity of European culture and actively engaging European citizens as audiences, by inviting us to become active protagonists in voting for our favourite films.
The three finalists of LUX Audience Award in 2021 are Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg, Collective by Alexander Nanau, and Corpus Christy by Jan Komasa, which were announced during the virtual ceremony of the European Film Awards in December 2020.
European audiences can vote their favourite LUX film until May 23, 2021, by rating it with stars. The Award Ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 9, 2021, in Strasbourg, during the plenary session of the EU Parliament.
The LUX Award will organise simultaneous screenings of the three nominees in cinemas, hybrid and/or virtual cinema rooms across all the European countries – The LUX AUDIENCE WEEK will take place from 11 to 13 of May, 2021. Find out more about the physical and online screenings of the films in the EU Member States here. Check it out and vote your favourite at luxaward.eu.
