What is FERA?
The Federation of European Film Directors (FERA), founded in 1980, is the only organisation representing film and TV directors at EU level. With 44 directors’ associations as members from 34 countries, we speak for more than 20,000 European screen directors, representing their cultural, creative and economic interests at national and European level.
FERA works to promote the directors’ cultural, creative and economic interests at national and European level through workshops, training sessions and policies that maximize the creative and commercial potential of the European audiovisual industry.
Missions
The Communication Assistant Trainee will carry out the following tasks under the supervision of FERA CEO and office and communications manager:
– Communications: curate editorial content for FERA’s website and social media; update regularly FERA’s website and social media profiles; drafting FERA trimestral newsletter; prepare briefings on current EU policy related to the audiovisual sector
– Event organization: assist FERA office and communications manager in organizing meetings and workshops in various EU Member States, prospect local partners, design the meeting’s schedule and programme
– Administrative tasks: update regularly FERA’s contact database (members and external contacts – EU institutions and audiovisual stakeholders).
Intern Profile
– Recent graduate or student with strong background in communications, cultural and community management / strong interest in the audiovisual sector and European affairs
– Excellent written and spoken English: strong writing skills are required (good knowledge of French is a plus)
– Excellent IT and computer skills (MS Office, Word Press website back office, social media, InDesign, Final Cut) / graphic design skills are a significant plus
– The intern must be well-organized and able to work independently
Practical details
– Where? FERA – Federation of European Film directors (Position based in Brussels, Belgium)
– When? From 20 August to 20 December 2019 (4 months)
– Working framework: part-time (21h/week)
– Student contract / Paid internship (200 €/month)
