FERA, FSE and UNI MEI held common project fifth online workshop “Anticipating and Managing Change”
The 5th workshop of a series part of FERA FSE UNI-MEI joint project “Strengthening Collective Bargaining for Audiovisual Creators” brought together 35 participants, experts, and representatives of FERA and FSE’s networks, from 18 countries on December 14, 2022.
The “Anticipating and managing change” workshop offered FERA and FSE members a platform to get information on existing collective agreements in the EU through an exchange opened with a presentation by FERA CEO Pauline Durand-Vialle “Mapping existing collective agreements in the EU – focus on global streamers” which summarized information publicly available on key characteristics and trends of global streamers’ deals with audiovisual authors representative organisations and collecting societies in Europe.
Participants then discussed ways to build common resources to enhance the audiovisual authors’ community knowledge and negotiation capacity, while exploring potential alliances between directors’ and screenwriters’ professional organisations.
The final brainstorm session explored the development of key elements to produce one of the joint project key deliverables: an index of national existing collective agreements, set to include translations in English when said agreements are public. The index will be finalised in the second semester of 2023.
